Cybit extends Fleetstar-Online functionality with powerful new Job Management capability

  • Combines telematics with realtime traffic and scheduling data to enable dynamic fleet deployment and Actual vs. Planned job management
  • Allows fleet operators to identify unrealistic schedules and proactively manage events

Cybit, the UK’s leading online telematics service provider, has launched a comprehensive new Job Management capability for its Internet-based Fleetstar-Online fleet and asset management solution. Job Management is available as a value-added extension to the company’s Fleetstar-Online telematics system combining visibility of vehicle locations, real-time traffic updates and the planned schedule of work to provide fleet operators with a truly dynamic fleet management capability.

Cybit’s new module is aimed particularly at the growing number of service and delivery organisations who need to know where their resources are in relation to their jobs and how the business is performing against planned schedules. Cybit’s Job Management solution will enable fleet managers and schedulers to create new jobs and import them into Fleetstar-Online, view those jobs on screen, and then report either in summary or detail against performance.

“With Job Management we’re again setting the innovation standard and helping organisations to gain extra value from their telematics implementations,” commented Cybit’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Horsman. “Job Management takes telematics beyond location to actually show where a company’s mobile assets are in relation to specific scheduled jobs or delivery points. This opens up significant new potential for our customers in terms of dynamic fleet deployment and the ability to manage actual performance in real-time against planned.

“Job Management also confirms the flexibility of our Fleetstar-Online telematics, as its OpenAPI interface makes it possible to easily load jobs from third party scheduling applications,” he continued. “It’s another example of how Cybit uses telematics to unlock valuable management information – in this case identifying where delivery schedules are unrealistic and spotting where delivery drops cross over.”

With Fleetstar-Online’s Job Management module, ‘jobs’ are made up of two components – addresses and details. Both can be imported into Fleetstar-Online either through the API or via a CSV file upload, or they can be directly created within the application. When loaded, Fleetstar-Online holds a wide variety of information including job references, start time, end time, anticipated work time, task descriptions and location details. Jobs are associated with vehicles, allowing Fleetstar-Online to match vehicle locations to the most appropriate jobs.

Viewing forthcoming and current job activity is particularly easy within Fleetstar-Online’s new Job Management module. All current and future jobs can be viewed on an online map, details of vehicles currently engaged on jobs are displayed on a list sheet, and the map can be controlled simply by clicking on a job. The main map interface also offers the ability to add new jobs to the system and manage existing jobs.

Comprehensive reporting capabilities
With Fleetstar-Online’s new Job Management capability, fleet managers can assign jobs to vehicles then match the arrival and departures of each vehicle to jobs using Cybit’s innovative MapMatcher functionality. Fleetstar-Online then uses this data to generate new reports, including summary reports that show the main numbers for the day (such as number of jobs visited, jobs missed, time spent on jobs), as well as more detailed reports that show information for each job including actual arrival/departure vs. planned, variance from plan, time spent on site etc.

Fleetstar-Online is Cybit’s scalable Internet-based fleet and asset management solution that provides organisations with precisely the level of telematics functionality they require, while also ensuring an easy upgrade path so that it can evolve to meet changing business needs. Fleet vehicles are fitted with a small electronic in-vehicle-unit (IVU) which is tracked by GPS and then data is transmitted to Cybit’s online control centre in real-time. It provides companies with a cost-effective, ASP-based, fleet management solution, which offers users anytime, anywhere access to the system via a standard web browser.
