New order from WRB Gas extends Cybit’s drive into Scottish field-service market

  • Fleetstar-Online will enable WRB Gas to identify location of engineer best trained for the job to ensure 'same day' customer service

Cybit, the UK’s leading online telematics service provider, has furthered its drive in to the Scottish field-service market with an order from Dundee-based WRB Gas, one of Scotland’s leading gas appliance maintenance, installation and repair firms. WRB Gas will implement Cybit’s Fleetstar-Online Internet-based fleet and asset management solution across its fleet of 52 light commercial vans to enhance the management of its mobile engineers. WRB Gas, which works predominantly with local authorities, offers a 'same day' service, and Fleetstar-Online’s real-time tracking capabilities enables it – for the first time – to send the most appropriately skilled engineer to a job, improving its level of service.

WRB Gas has used telematics for several years but its previous system no longer met its requirements. The system was used retrospectively to confirm an engineer’s location and was not able to support the 'same day response' service WRB Gas customers now expect. Fleetstar-Online by contrast enables staff to quickly respond to customer events by identifying and dispatching the nearest available engineer.

“When a customer calls with an emergency we need to be able to send the right engineer, and we need to send them quickly. With Fleetstar-Online we now have real-time location capabilities across our entire fleet at the touch of a button so we can effectively coordinate our mobile workforce,” commented Bob Ward, Director at WRB Gas.

“Fleetstar-Online also enables us to show prospective clients the scale of our business – we can identify our entire fleet on one screen and, with more than 50 engineers operating in a 50 mile radius of our depot, we can effectively demonstrate the level of coverage that we are able to provide. Telematics is as much an investment in our clients as our business, and the impressive visibility of Cybit’s Fleetstar-Online lets us demonstrate that,” Bob Ward continued.

John Wisdom, Group Sales and Marketing Director, Cybit commented: “More and more organisations are realising the benefits of telematics, and we are pleased that WRB Gas chose to replace its incumbent system with Fleetstar-Online. It has also taken advantage of our Fleet Telematics insurance offering through Norwich Union, providing fixed insurance premiums for the duration of the agreement and the ability to earn a Risk Recognition Rebate of up to 16 per cent of the annual premium for meeting risk management KPIs.”

This new order from WRB Gas follows recent orders from other Scottish organisations including The Hepburn Engineering Group, Turriff, Tulloch, Kerr & Smith and Bernard Brogan. Cybit has moved quickly to become Scotland’s fastest-growing telematics vendor, clearly establishing its Fleetstar-Online solution as an ideal choice for a number of key Scottish markets including the fleet, haulage, construction and service sectors.

Fleetstar-Online is Cybit’s scalable Internet-based telematics solution that features real-time vehicle tracking, exception reporting, replay mode, customised reports, mileage information, SMS messaging and live traffic information. By implementing Fleetstar-Online organisations are able to take advantage of the Norwich Union’s Fleet Telematics insurance offering. Fleet Telematics offers organisations that install Fleetstar-Online fixed insurance premiums for the two to three year duration of the agreement and also gives them the ability to earn a Risk Recognition Rebate of up to 16 per cent per annum for meeting risk management KPIs.
