Clash-Media acquires Trigga

  • Clash-Media to build unique Trigga 'ad-matching' technology into its Online Lead Generation offering
  • Appoints Ed Bussey as new CEO to drive next phase of company’s development

London, UKClash-Media, the Global Lead Generation specialist, has acquired Trigga. Trigga is a technology that will power a proprietary network of high quality, personalised, real-time news and lifestyle websites, enabling consumers to engage with relevant products and services, contextually chosen to match their interests. Trigga's unique proprietary 'ad-matching' technology will give Advertisers working with Clash-Media a significant competitive advantage, enabling them to source highly qualified and opted-in leads that have a current and immediate interest in their goods or services.

Ed Bussey, CEO and founder of Trigga, will become CEO of the combined Clash-Media group and will drive the next phase of the company's growth and development. Ed Bussey, already a Non-Executive Director of Clash-Media, comes with a strong record of success in developing online consumer businesses – notably at ZYB and figleaves.com. Simon Wajcenberg, who founded the company and has steered it successfully to become an international player in the Online Lead Generation market, is moving on to other business development opportunities. He will remain a Non-Executive Director of the company.

"The acquisition of Trigga takes Clash-Media's offering in the Online Lead Generation market to a new level," commented Ed Bussey, CEO of Clash-Media. "Trigga will enable Clash-Media’s Advertisers to source more highly qualified consumer leads, across more territories and a significantly wider range of product and service categories than before – it’s a unique "super lead generation platform". It will also help Publishers generate additional revenue by automatically positioning lead gen adverts contextually alongside their news and lifestyle content – a compelling offering in what is currently a tough revenue environment for online publishers."

Steve Gray, Chairman, Clash-Media: "We are delighted to welcome Ed Bussey into his new role as Clash-Media enters into an exciting new growth phase. His talent, client side marketing, consumer and international experience and natural leadership ability will be strong assets in bringing the synergies between Trigga and Clash-Media to the global market."

Ed Bussey set up Trigga, his third internet start-up, in 2009. Prior to that, he was COO of ZYB, a mobile social networking start up, which acquired over half a million users online and entered ten new territories within six months before being acquired by Vodafone in 2008. Before that, he was one of the founding team and Marketing Director of figleaves.com (2000), a global branded clothing internet retailer, which he launched into the US in 2004, with over a million customers around the world.
