EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT - RFID Executive Briefing and Demonstration
Presented by SSI, Intermec and MicrosoftAt the RFID Centre, Bracknell on Wednesday 22nd June
This non-technical, business focused event is aimed at senior executives of UK manufacturers who may come under pressure from their major customers to implement RFID solutions. The purpose of this educational event is to explain RFID concepts compared to other automated data collection technologies, and to show how RFID can deliver additional benefits.
Following short presentations on the evolution of automated data capture (SSI), current uses of RFID (Intermec) and future direction of the technology (Microsoft), delegates will be taken on a guided tour by RFID Centre staff where they will see demonstrations of a wide variety of RFID applications in operation.
The RFID Centre has been established by the DTI and IT sponsors to increase awareness and understanding of the potential of RFID technologies – particularly in the CPG manufacturing supply chain. Manufacturers are coming under pressure from their major customers to adopt RFID but current research shows that the majority of executives in CPG manufacturing have not had the opportunity to become familiar with the potential of RFID within their own organisations, and as a result many see RFID as a cost rather than a means of improving efficiencies. This event provides a non-technical introduction to RFID and by showing examples of RFID applications from different industries, it can provide ideas for improving control and efficiencies within the organization or across the supply chain.
The free half day event is being held on Thursday 22nd June 2005 at the RFID Centre, Bracknell. Advance registration is essential as places are limited. Further details, agenda and booking form are on
