DS2, only PLC technology provider for IPTV Home Networking applications appoints CTO

DS2, has appointed José Calero, as Chief Technology Officer. José´s professional roots stem from Lucent Technologies’ Bell Laboratories where he occupied various managerial positions. Prior to joining DS2 he was CEO/CTO of IngeniaSystem a Spanish IC design service company. With 20 years business and engineering experience, José will build on the resounding success of DS2´s high speed Power Line Communications (PLC) chips which are leading the world of home video networks for IPTV and Triple Play services over XDSL and FTTH. 

DS2’s revolutionary 200 Mbps technology is currently at the heart of home networking devices such as Telefonica’s Imagenio IPTV triple play and video-over-DSL service. According to Jorge Blasco, DS2 CEO “The Telefonica order is the largest ever placed by an ADSL operator for IPTV triple play services. We have shipped more than 100k chip-sets the majority for commercial roll-outs like that of Telefonica; with José at the helm DS2 will maintain its leading edge in BPL and home networking markets.”

Other members of the DS2 management team are equally excited by José´s appointment. “We are the only manufacturer with a Video capable technology. Unlike other PLC alternatives, we support Class of Service to allow multiple simultaneous video and data channels.
