London, UK, 12th July 2006 - Leading UK software house, Evenlogic, has launched a new electronic forms service that enables the online completion and submission of PDF forms using Adobe Reader. Thanks to the new service, organisations are now able to place electronic versions of their PDF forms on a web server and allow users to complete, edit and save the forms to the web server using Adobe Reader from within their web browser window - under normal circumstances when Adobe Reader is used on its own, data in PDF forms cannot be saved.

The new service potentially makes obsolete the current practice of placing static PDF forms on websites for users to print out, complete by hand and return by post or fax. It allows users to complete forms using their own web browser and then submit the completed forms online.

Other key benefits of the new PDF eForms service include simplifying the process of completing and submitting forms, reducing errors, and improving the work flow processes of the organisations collecting the data. Each user’s form is password protected and prior to submitting their form, a user may, if they wish, save their partially or fully completed form to the web server. The form can then be returned to later for further work, not only by the original user but also by others working at different locations. When a form is submitted, a final PDF version is created on the server and a copy emailed back to the user as an attachment for their records.

Evenlogic’s managing director, John Jarvis, said: “The launch of this service makes form filling a lot less painful for users and brings significant efficiency benefits to the organisations collecting the data.”

The full eForms service provided by Evenlogic includes the initial creation of the electronic forms, hosting the forms and associated software application on a .NET web server and developing bespoke software to help integrate the data collected into back-end databases and workflow processes.
