RSPB partners with consumer shopping Website as part of drive to attract new members

  • InternetCashback.co.uk will enable RSPB to offer new members a cashback incentive to join the charity online
  • More than ten charities and ethical retailers already use Internet Cashback site including Cancer Research UK and RSPCA

Manchester, UK - 13 February, 2007 - InternetCashback.co.uk, one of the UK's leading consumer shopping Websites, has agreed a partnership with The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) - the UK's leading wildlife conservation charity. For the first time, Internet Cashback will now offer a £5 cashback incentive to new members who sign up to the RSPB online via the Internet Cashback Website. The partnership is the latest of the charity’s new strategies to attract new members, and will ensure that the RSPB reaches a wider audience, including the growing number of people who choose to carry out day-to-day transactions over the Internet.

InternetCashback.co.uk has partnerships with over 600 leading retailers, across a range of sectors - including eBay, Tesco, the AA, HMV and SkyDigital. The RSPB joins more than ten charities and ethical retailers already using the Internet Cashback site to offer cashback incentives including: Cancer Research UK, World Vision, RSPCA and Unicef. This latest move represents a growing trend towards charities using the Web as a way of gaining new members, collecting online donations and selling charity branded goods as it not only increases their marketing scope but helps reduce costs.

"The RSPB decided to join an affiliate programme as a great way to generate sponsors and interest in our work to conserve wild birds and the environment", commented Susan Hordern, Online Marketing Co-ordinator for the RSPB. "By working with affiliates like InternetCashback.co.uk, it has given us greater exposure to a wider audience which can only help us with our drive to attract new members."

"All retailers need to have an online presence and similarly charities have started using the Web as a way of increasing revenue and keeping costs down ," said Chris Nolan, Project Manager at InternetCashback.co.uk. "More and more people are using the Web as a means of conducting a variety of online transactions - from finding a new utility supplier to selecting a new car. On InternetCashback.co.uk we have a wide selection of leading retailers, and it's great to include charities among them. Not only does it give the consumer more choice, it enables them to sign up for a really good cause whilst still benefiting from the cashback incentive."

How InternetCashback.co.uk works:
InternetCashback.co.uk offers new members £10 cashback as soon as they register. Customers can then view and make purchases on a partner's website via the Internet Cashback site. Once the transaction is complete, Resource Team, creator of the site, automatically detects the transaction and credits the member's account with a percentage of the product’s value - sometimes as much as 50 per cent. The service also includes a referral scheme which allows members to earn additional funds - for life - whenever their friends use the service.
