John Lewis Awarded Best Department Store

John Lewis has been awarded Best Department Store by consumers at ReviewCentre.com, the leading consumer review Website.

John Lewis proved such a hit with online visitors to Review Centre during the last year that it easily won the Best Department Store award, beating 24 other well known high street shops.

The ReviewCentre.com award is based on averages of ratings, recommendations and user comments submitted by consumers on Review Centre in 2006.

Andrew McMillan, Customer Service Manager, John Lewis, said: "We were delighted to be voted best department store by the users of Review Centre. We were especially pleased as the award is the result of direct customer feedback and provides a very valuable measure of how we are perceived by the most important people in our shops. Readers consistently heaped praise on John Lewis with a total of 78 per cent of those writing reviews at Review Centre being able to recommend the store. John Lewis also scored a high ratings for quality of service, value for money and store layout.

Customers writing in both the Department Stores and the Online Department Stores categories commented on factors such as John Lewis' great value for money, its range of quality products and an excellent customer service policy as reasons for recommending the store.

"Bought many products from John Lewis and always very satisfied with the service. In my view, I will never find a better service in the UK," said one customer.

"As a regular at the John Lewis Oxford Street store over the last five years, I have never been disappointed by the choices on offer, excellent advice and the price - very competitive," said another.

The company's Website and online service was also consistently praised by consumers.

"I have used John Lewis lots of times both via their shop and online. I've found them good value, really polite and never had any problems," said yet another satisfied customer.
