INTERTEXT Traducción y Documentación Multilingüe, S.L. is the first translation services company in Catalonia and the second in Spain to obtain the EN-15038 European Quality Standard for Translation Services.

With this certification, INTERTEXT reinforces its commitment to high quality professional translation services. The company has been certified to the ISO 9001:2000 international quality standard for four years and, following the publication of the EN-15038 standard in December 2006, it set out to obtain this certification, receiving it in March 2007. INTERTEXT was a pioneer in its sector in terms of ISO certification and is again leading the way with this new standard that specifically regulates translation services.

About the EN-15038 Standard
Unlike ISO 9001:2000, which establishes the requisites of a quality system regardless of the service or product involved, the EN-15038 European standard defines quality criteria for translation services. These criteria have been agreed upon under the auspices of the CEN (European Committee for Standardization) by all agents in the European translation sector: national and European translators' associations, translation companies and industry and institutional representatives. Closely linked to the ISO 9001:2000 in that it requires a quality system, the standard establishes additional requisites such as the need to revise translations, have a documented process on the selection of translators and conditions for their qualification, and specific processes to ensure translation quality.
