Latest release from Big Bang LLC enables efficient migration to Windows 7

  • Beta testing to begin for Windows 7 compatible Universal Imaging Utility (UIU) version 4.5

MILWAUKEE – October 14, 2009 – Today, Big Bang LLC announced beta testing for the Universal Imaging Utility (UIU) version 4.5 including new upgrades and features for compatibility with Microsoft’s latest Operating System, Windows 7. The UIU is patented technology that makes possible the creation of a master Windows hard drive image, which, once cloned, can be deployed to any laptop or desktop regardless of manufacturer. The latest version, due for release in quarter four, 2009, was developed specifically for compatibility with Windows 7.

New features of the UIU version 4.5 include: new Windows 7 driver database, support for Macintosh Intel-based hardware via Mac Boot Camp, advanced OS-agnostic UIU Discovery Tool which allows the user to ascertain hardware compatibility for all current Windows Operating Systems, modified Sysprep .xml answer files, new Windows 7 Welcome installation optimization, as well as continued feature updates and support for Windows XP and Vista. These new features allow for the creation and maintenance of a single hardware-independent hard drive image that will minimize the time required to migrate from existing operating systems to Windows 7.

The impending release of version 4.5 is yet another milestone for Big Bang and their mission to create a unique and effective deployment solution for their customers. "We are particularly excited for the release of v4.5," said Big Bang President, Adam Murphy. "There are a lot of organizations out there that decided to pass on [Windows] Vista when it came out, and have since been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Windows 7. We built 4.5 to make the migration from XP to 7 extremely efficient."

Since 2004, the UIU has enabled IT departments to save considerable time and money. The goal of version 4.5 is to make the maintenance and deployment of one Universal Windows image and the migration from existing operating systems to Windows 7 even more efficient.

The UIU has been effectively deployed to over 2 million PCs worldwide for companies, government and healthcare agencies, and educational institutions.
