IPTV Forum Middle East & Africa reinforces its position as a must attend show in the diaries of all Telco executives

London, UK – November 23, 2009 - Today Informa Telecoms & Media released the performance figures from IPTV Forum Middle East & Africa, which forms part of the IPTV World Series of events.

Recent calculations show that over 750 people from the MEA region attended the show, which took place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai on 18th – 19th November.

30 exhibiting companies, including Etisalat, the event’s Strategic Operator Partner, showcased and demonstrated their latest market offerings with many connecting with top industry executives, underlining the immense interest in IP enabled TV in the Middle East region.

Mario Pino, Business Development & Strategy Manager for Etisalat, said that "The market is really evolving. I think awareness around the world is that the Middle East is about to take off and is finally happening." He went on to add, "The main reason we wanted to be a Strategic Partner with Informa Telecoms & Media is really because we’re making IPTV in 2010 a big focus of our company. We're expanding in the UAE, and building the systems needed to make sure we can take care of our users and give them, what we call, "eLife" and provide them with a converged platform. Being a Strategic Partner this year will help us get the message out that we are, together with Informa, focused in the space and invite companies to really look at us as we move forward."

Souhail Haddaji, Vice President – Marketing (Fixed Products) Commercial at du, commented, "The whole IPTV industry in the region is here; all the key players. Partners, Vendors, Operators, so it’s really an important opportunity for us to share with the industry what we are doing, but also, from a working perspective to see the latest developments and demonstrations."

Mehmet Sapolat, IPTV Project Manager for TTNET stressed how invaluable it is for them to be at the event to meet with prospective vendors adding "I think Informa are doing a great job of keeping the event relevant. Everyone who is here as a delegate, exhibitor or a guest are all taking what they need in terms of watching what’s going on in the IPTV market or mobile market and it’s win, win for everybody."

Gavin Whitechurch, Conferences Director, IPTV World Series, said "The event is a huge success, with many of our clients commenting on the high number of very constructive meetings they had at the show. With the majority of our clients rebooking for next year immediately, IPTV Middle East & Africa 2010 is sure to even bigger."
