Former Canal Plus CEO Pierre Lescure joins the board of Audionamix

March 5, 2010 - Audionamix, the world leader in the separation of sound tracks, has appointed Pierre Lescure as a non-executive director. Pierre Lescure is a media executive and former Chairman and CEO of Canal Plus

The appointment reflects Audionamix’s determination to become a major player in the sound and entertainment industries, to accelerate its development and position itself for large international projects.

Lescure has been a leading figure in the French media and entertainment sector for two decades. He was Chairman and CEO of Canal Plus for ten years from 1993, and co-CEO of Vivendi Universal from 2000 to 2002, in charge of the cinema and television units. He is a member of the supervisory boards of media group Lagardere and Le Monde newspaper, and served until recently on the board of Technicolor.

He decided to join the Audionamix board after seeing the industry recognition it has won since its establishment in 2003. Audionamix was commissioned to remaster one of Edith Piaf’s oldest recordings from a mono to a separated track for the biographical film La Mome in 2007. Late last year it worked with Universal Music to create a new version of Dame Vera Lynn’s classic wartime hit We’ll Meet Again with the contemporary Fron Male Voice Choir.

Pierre Lescure commented: Audionamix technology is unique and incredibly promising. These last few years have seen an enormous increase in the restoration of images; it is about time that someone does the same for sound. I am delighted to be personally associated with this next step in the entertainment industry.

Audionamix CEO Olivier Attia said: Having Pierre Lescure on our side is a great asset for Audionamix. Pierre brings his knowledge and unique vision of the world of cinema and music. He also brings an expertise which will take us one step further to meeting the increasing demands of the cinema and music majors as they move to update and reformat their back-catalogues in a quest for top quality.
