EASILIFT LOADING SYSTEMS TO SPEARHEAD GROWTH FROM NEW HEAD OFFICE

Loading bay specialist Easilift Loading Systems has moved to a new Head Office, from which the company will spearhead growth to capitalise on a hugely successful 2011.

"We achieved a turnover of £20 million last year, with the biggest names in retail turning to Easilift Loading Systems for state-of-the-art loading bay solutions like our £6 million installation for Tesco’s Grocery Distribution Centre," explains managing director Rob Fay. "Our new Head Office reflects our desire to build on this foundation, with several major project launches planned for 2012."

The office building has been fully customised to suit Easilift’s needs, including a combined open-plan Sales, Projects and Design office; a state of the art conference room; and a Service Department which has been future proofed to accommodate further expansion throughout 2012.

The premises were formally opened on 19th January by Edward Kelly and Dick van Wijk, the founders of, respectively, Easilift and parent company Loading Systems.

Edward Kelly founded Easilift in 1976, and established the company’s base in Kirkburton, Huddersfield in 1980. The new Head Office is only half a mile from Easilift’s location over the past three decades, ensuring continuity with the company’s local ties. In fact, the existing building has been retained to provide additional warehousing space to support the company’s growth.

In 1993 Easilift merged with the Netherlands-based multi-national logistics specialist Loading Systems Group started by Dick Van Wijk. Edward Kelly remained in charge of the UK operation until he stood down as managing director, although he remained as a director until 2011.

Manager Director Rob Fay showed the company’s founders around the new premises, along with Dick’s son Ronald, the current joint CEO of Loading Systems along with his brother Harald.

"We were delighted to reunite Edward and Dick, the architects of Easilift Loading Systems’ success both at home and abroad, as we showcase the new home for our UK business," confirms Rob Fay.

"We believe that our strength in logistics comes from the combination of Easilift’s local talent over the past 36 years, allied to the robust support of a multi-national brand like Loading Systems," he adds.
