httv and Sigma designs partner to deliver HbbTV solution at the iptvTV world forum 2012

At the occasion of the IP&TV World Forum 2012 in London, httv, the end to end iTV solutions provider, announces the implementation of its httvBOX middleware STB turnkey solution on Sigma Designs chipsets, to provide an advanced and cost effective solution for the hybrid market. Sigma Designs will showcase "httvBOX" on its booth during the show.

Paris -15th of march 2012 /Targetwire/ - httvBox from httv is an embedded software solution for connected TVs and STBs available for all TV distribution platforms: from pure broadcast (DVB-T/T2/ S/S2/ C front-ends) to pure IP (IPTV, OTT) and hybrid, including both. It offers an extensive range of features such as an innovative User based profile UI (adult vs. kids UI) and complete nonlinear TV services (Push-VOD, catch-up TV) as well as an enhanced EPG, personalized video mosaic.

The interactivity of this httvBOX is powered by the HbbTV fast growing European standard (Hybrid broadcast broadband TV). Member of the HbbTV consortium, httv has been very involved in the development of the standard and has become a leading provider of HbbTV solutions.

httv is bringing its HbbTV expertise to Sigma Designs by operating the first implementation of the standard on Sigma's SMP8670 chipset.
