Cybit wins £400,000 order from Mono Services for Fleetstar-Online

  • Property maintenance specialist installs Internet-based fleet and asset management solution in entire fleet of vehicles
  • Cybit solution integrates with Mono Services back-office systems to automate payroll calculations

Cybit, the UK’s leading online telematics service provider, has won a major order from property maintenance specialist Mono Services worth £400,000 over a five-year period. Cybit will install its Internet-based fleet and asset management solution, Fleetstar-Online, in Mono Services entire fleet of 200 maintenance and surveyor vehicles operating throughout the North West of England. The Fleetstar-Online solution will deliver fleet and asset management directly to the desktop allowing Mono Services to track its fleet in real-time, and then integrate this data with its back-office applications to automate payroll calculations.  

Cybit’s Fleetstar-Online telematics technology has been designed with an OpenAPI interface which enables it to integrate to any third party back-office or corporate enterprise system easily, cost-effectively and securely, avoiding the complex and expensive integration issues normally associated with linking to corporate databases and enterprise environments.

"We have a vision to be the best regional building maintenance solution across our entire customer base, and have ambitious growth plans for 2005,” commented Mark Whittaker, Business Development Manager, Mono Services. "We wanted to be able to monitor and track our vehicles for two reasons. Firstly to automate our payroll – before the introduction of telematics our drivers had to fill in time sheets, hand them in at the office and then they were processed through the payroll system. Fleetstar-Online will integrate with our back-office infrastructure to automate the payroll process based on driving hours taken from the telematics data therefore increasing the efficiency of our administrative processes.

“Secondly, Fleetstar-Online allows us to evaluate the routes we are using to and from various sites to see if there are potential time savings. We can also examine how long our vehicles are at supplier sites to reduce the non-productive time that we experience waiting for goods," continued Mark Whittaker. "We looked at several solutions, but were most impressed with the Cybit system which came highly recommended from other companies who currently use it. As our business continues to grow we expect our use of telematics to increase at the same rate."

Fleetstar-Online is Cybit’s scalable Internet-based telematics solution that features real-time vehicle tracking, exception reporting, replay mode, customised reports, mileage information, SMS messaging and live traffic information. Fleet vehicles are fitted with a small electronic in-vehicle-unit (IVU) which is tracked by GPS in real-time and data transmitted to Cybit’s online control centre. It provides companies with a cost-effective ASP-based fleet management solution, which offers users anytime, anywhere access to the system via a standard web browser. Fleetstar-Online also features added value solutions support, with fully integrated Smartnav satellite navigation and RAC Trackstar Plus stolen vehicle recovery system functionality.
