Cybit launches home delivery sales initiative for retail sector

Cybit, the UK’s leading online telematics service provider, has announced a major new initiative that will see it target the home delivery sector. It follows the success of the company’s recent project with Sainsbury's to help power its 400-plus 'Sainsbury's to You' home delivery operation, and the growing requirement for home delivery fleets to optimise their performance.

The combination of Cybit's Fleetstar-Online solution with Smartnav satellite navigation allows organisations in the home delivery sector to maximise their operational efficiency, enhancing their Duty of Care provision for drivers, optimising fleet performance under the Working Time Directive, and helping home delivery organisations to exceed customer expectations. Thanks to the Open API architecture of the Cybit system, essential telematics data can be easily integrated with an organisation’s existing routing and scheduling system, allowing it to analyse and optimise the efficiency of its operation.

The data produced by Fleetstar-Online allows home delivery fleet managers to have complete visibility of the mileage, service history, distances travelled and speeds driven across its entire fleet helping to ensure that the vehicle is in good working order and being driven responsibly. The real-time vehicle location capability, and the ability to call the 24/7 call centre in case of emergency, also dramatically enhances vehicle and driver safety. Drivers also experience less stress as there is no need for them to constantly refer to a gazetteer or use a mobile phone to obtain directions.
