Warehouse and Distribution specialist PC Howard selects Fleetstar-Online telematics solution

Cybit, the UK’s leading online telematics service provider, has announced that PC Howard, a UK-based company with over 50 years experience in distribution and warehousing, has selected Fleetstar-Online to more effectively manage its fleet of HGVs. The company distributes predominantly palletted goods throughout the UK with its fleet of 100 haulage vehicles, ranging from 7.5 tonne vans to 44 tonne GVW articulated vehicles. Cybit’s GPRS-enabled fleet and asset management solution will provide PC Howard’s traffic office with real-time visibility of vehicle operations combined with live traffic information, enabling its traffic coordinators to route drivers around the worst traffic delays to maximise productive time, and minimise fuel wastage.

Fleetstar-Online has already enabled drivers to avoid serious congestion spots, helping speed deliveries and reduce fuel costs, yet also pro-actively keep customers informed of any unavoidable delays. Fleetstar-Online will help PC Howard to reduce mileage through the evaluation of routes taken and the measurement of standing time at RDCs. PC Howard will also use Fleetstar-Online to enhance the security of its vehicles – by providing critical asset protection through GPRS-enabled live vehicle tracking.
