Caledonian Windows to implement Fleetstar-Online across its fleet of installation vans

  • Real-time vehicle tracking and navigation will enable top Scottish windows company to increase efficiency and reduce fuel costs

Cybit, the UK’s leading online Telematics Service Provider (TSP), has announced that Caledonian Windows, one of the leading window and door specialists in southern Scotland, has selected the Fleetstar-Online Internet-based fleet and asset management solution to improve its operational efficiency and customer service. Fleetstar-Online will give Caledonian Windows full visibility of time spent on jobs, and help plan and manage its workforce to reduce fuel costs. In addition, live vehicle tracking coupled with real-time traffic information will allow the company to provide more accurate ETAs to customers waiting for fitters to arrive.

Caledonian Windows will also benefit from Cybit and Norwich Union’s Fleet Telematics offering, which provides risk recognition rebates and fixed insurance premiums over three years. This latest order from Ayr-based Caledonian Windows extends Cybit’s position as the leading telematics provider in Scotland, following recent orders from Tulloch Construction, Campbell’s Prime Meats and WRB Gas Contracts.

“One of the big reasons for purchasing Cybit’s Fleetstar-Online system was its links to Norwich Union, and the benefits that we can get from the Fleet Telematics offering,” commented James Middleton, General Manager, Caledonian Windows. “The benefits don’t stop there – the new solution helps us to make our business more efficient, from customer service, to time spent on jobs, right through to fuel efficiency. We have many sites to service, and short of staying in constant phone contact with our fitters, it’s difficult to tell where they are with any accuracy. With Fleetstar-Online we can identify where they are in real time.”

“Caledonian Windows represents yet another new area of business for Cybit, and demonstrates that many different organisations can reap significant benefits from implementing telematics,” added John Wisdom, Group Sales and Marketing Director, Cybit. “Our push into new markets demonstrates that fleet visibility is an important and relevant issue for service businesses in the UK, such as Caledonian Windows. Fleetstar-Online supports key customer and business objectives through GPRS functionality and sophisticated reporting tools that help businesses manage their fleets.”

Fleetstar-Online is Cybit’s scalable Internet-based fleet and asset management solution that provides organisations with precisely the level of telematics functionality they require, while also ensuring an easy upgrade path so that it can evolve to meet changing business needs. Fleet vehicles are fitted with a small electronic in-vehicle-unit (IVU) which is tracked by GPS in real-time and then transmits data to Cybit’s online control centre. It provides companies with a cost-effective ASP-based fleet management solution, which offers users anytime, anywhere access to the system via a standard web browser.
