Gilbarco, Europe’s foremost petrol pump maintenance organisation, has signed a contract extension for European-wide rollout of Cybit’s Fleetstar-Online telematics solution. The deployment includes a further 170 vehicles across the Nordic region and follows the successful implementation of Fleetstar throughout the 200-strong UK engineer team. Cybit’s Fleetstar is now deployed on Gilbarco’s fleet in five countries.
Gilbarco’s service engineers cover many stations in a large geographical area, which makes engineer allocation critical to the success of the company – both on planned maintenance and reactive jobs. Fleetstar provides total vision over the whole business in real-time 24/7. Gilbarco is a $650m global brand that provides leading solutions and technologies that deliver on a range of maintenance and point of sales services for retail fuelling and adjacent markets.
“The goals of our move to vehicle based tracking have been to improve engineer productivity, reduce operating costs through better process and planning and to provide metrics that manage service level agreements with our customers,” commented David Coombe, European Service Director. “The change and rapid return on investment was proven in the UK and really caught the imagination of our European Colleagues.”
“The UK installation made dramatic improvements to the competitiveness of our organisation. Following our acquisition of Autotank Group of Tampere, Finland, earlier this year, we have now deployed Cybit’s Fleetstar across a further four countries,” David Coombe continued.
David Coombe added: “We have found that there are progressive layers of return on investment through telematics. These include quick wins on cost reduction through better engineer optimisation, to the strategic allocation of resources. In the medium-term we will look to integrate with our back-office systems. This will further streamline processes and result in more cost benefits.”
Steve Towe, Cybit’s International Business Director commented: “Both companies take pride in their service capability. We are delighted to be associated with a progressive company and contribute to delivering its key objectives of quality, delivery, value and innovation. Cybit is looking forward to expanding its relationship with Gilbarco and help it to meet its needs effectively across Europe.”
Fleetstar-Online is Cybit’s industry leading, scalable suite of Internet-based vehicle tracking tools. The high quality data relating vehicle performance is captured in conjunction with location information, reported and analysed through Fleetstar. This allows meaningful business decisions to be made using up to the minute information on operational performance.
Powerful reporting capabilities facilitate effective management of operational costs and productivity; support strategic initiatives around Carbon footprint; and increase compliance with legislation including Duty of Care and Health and Safety. The strategic importance of Fleetstar-generated information extends beyond vehicle tracking into the heart of the enterprise: fleet derived information can be directly integrated into a range of business systems to improve the efficiency of the entire organisation. Fleetstar provides the business-critical information that organisations need to execute a clear and rapid path to return on investment.
