Mobile phone accessories distributor selects Maginus multi-channel solution to support corporate growth

Manchester, 22 November 2005 - Maginus, the specialist provider of multi-channel solutions for Retail and Distribution organisations, has completed a major installation of the Maginus solution at Pama UK Ltd, a leading distributor of accessories for mobile phones and other communication equipment. The Maginus multi-channel solution will enable Pama to improve warehouse efficiency through better visibility of orders, allowing staff to provide customers with accurate delivery information. It will also enhance Pama’s sales processes and help to drive new orders, supporting the company’s ambitious corporate growth targets.

Maginus ensures that Pama’s sales staff are prompted to up-sell by displaying messages about complementary products, reduced prices for larger orders and alternative products. Since the system was implemented, Pama’s returns process has been streamlined - Pama can now ensure that goods returned match an existing sales order, analyse returns to identify problems and control follow-up actions more efficiently. In phase two of the roll-out, Maginus will deliver a transactional Web site that will allow customers to track orders invoices, and account details, as well as order products based on accurate stock availability figures.

Antony Warhurst, Logistics Manager at Pama, commented: “With Maginus we can easily see a snapshot of the customer, from which we can find out anything we need to know about them. This means we can now answer customer queries immediately and as a result we’re already seeing improvements in customer service. Maginus really helps the sales staff to increase the value of each order and reduces admin. It particularly helps in the areas of kitting, back orders and product accessories.

“Improving efficiency within the warehouse was another key objective for us. The parcel carrier interface has given us an immediate win in terms of saving time, but we expect to make more significant efficiency savings over the coming months. Savings in the warehouse will be achieved by controlling direct deliveries, back orders and bar-coding which will ultimately help us to increase stock turn and reduce stock holding levels,” Antony Warhurst continued.

Pama’s customers include independent telecoms shops, large retailers and overseas organsations. It receives orders by phone, mail, fax and electronically, and the Maginus system supports Pama’s multi-channel operations.
