Load more for your money with the new low cost economy ramp from Thorworld

Leading loading & unloading equipment manufacturer, Thorworld Industries Ltd, has introduced a new low cost Economy model (Type 7) mobile yardramp, as well as announcing a significant reduction in the cost of its ramp maintenance service.

The new value-for-money Economy ramp provides a slightly shorter and lighter weight, affordable alternative to their existing Deluxe models (Types 5/6).

Available in 7,000 and 10,000kg capacities, the Economy ramp has been purpose-designed by Thorworld for fast, efficient and cost-effective loading and unloading of trailers and containers by fork truck where there is no loading dock.

With an overall length of 11.5m and a useable width of 2.24/2.25m, they are solidly built, with a steel superstructure, using the latest solid beam technique. A serrated open grid deck provides positive traction in all weather conditions and a hand operated hydraulic pump raises them to the required height.

Featuring side safety curbs, they come with a unique built-in tow bar, allowing them to be quickly and easily moved around by fork truck. Designed and fully tested to meet the latest European quality & safety standards and directives, they all carry the CE mark.

To help keep their mobile yard ramps in tip top condition and comply with appropriate testing legislation, Thorworld provides comprehensive service and maintenance back-up.

And with increased efficiencies through pre-planned journey cycles and improved manpower utilisation, significant cost savings have now been achieved for their ramp maintenance service.

Thorworld provides a one-stop, single source for a wide range of high quality loading & unloading equipment and loading bay accessories & safety aids, such as: dock shelters & seals, dock levellers, dock plates & boards, dock & vehicle bumpers, wheel chocks and modular loading docks, together with the provision of mobile yardramps, for purchase or rental on a sale or return basis, through its specialist RentARamp operation, as well as the Truckloada mobile yardlift, the Dockloada scissor lift platform, and the new low cost Economy ramp.

“With state-of-the-art design and production resources, an on-going product development programme and continual employee training, we are recognised as both a leader and an innovator in our field,” said Thorworld Managing Director, John Meale.

“Our objective is to provide a totally comprehensive range of quality engineered loading bay and materials handling equipment, all of which is designed to help ensure safe, cost-effective and profitable working, as well as the protection of vehicles, plant and personnel – setting the standards across the industry.”
