Pindar wins Yorkshire Annual Report award...again!

News release

28 June 2006

Pindar has scooped the award for the 'Private Company' category at the Yorkshire Annual Report Awards ceremony.

Having already won the same award in 2004, Pindar fought off fierce competition from Costcutters (last year’s winner) and the Evans Property Group, to win the award for producing a top class report in the privately owned company category.

Now in its eighth year, the Yorkshire Insider business magazine and PricewaterhouseCoopers joined together to recognise those Yorkshire companies that have taken pride in the production of their annual report. The award winners and those short listed, succeeded in making their reports useful, intelligible and relevant, presented in a clear accessible manner. With eight categories overall, the winners were selected by an independent judging panel.

Pindar’s annual report was complimented for being as professional in presentation, and as complete in content, as a fully listed company’s report with one of the judges commenting: “We had no hesitation in deciding that Pindar’s report deserved to win; it stood head and shoulders above the others”.

John Armistead, Pindar’s Group Finance Director commented: “We believe that our Annual Report is an important document as it is a great opportunity to tell our customers and other partners all about Pindar and how well we are doing. Because of the vibrancy of the Yorkshire economy and the fact that the region is a hotbed of printing companies, this is an especially prestigious award for us to be short listed for…never mind to win! Whilst taking this opportunity to thank those who were involved with the creation and printing of the document, we can all share in the pride of winning this award.”

The prestigious awards ceremony was held at the Queens Hotel in Leeds with keynote speakers being Ron MacMillan (of PWC) talking about the latest developments in financial reporting and Anthony Hilton (Financial Editor of the London Evening Standard) who spoke about his experiences as a leading journalist.
