UK’s leading consumer review website reports increase in Internet buyers satisfaction

  •   Consumers almost three times as likely to praise products than to complain on ReviewCentre.com
  •   Golfers happiest with their purchases
  •   Financial service, utility suppliers and personal finance customers most dissatisfied

Manchester, UK - 4th October, 2006 - Current consumer reviews received by Resource Team Limited, producers of the UK’s leading consumer review website ReviewCentre.com, show that Internet shoppers are almost three times as likely to be happy with their purchases than not. It found that golfers were the happiest group of consumers with 92 per cent likely to submit positive reviews and financial service users registering the least satisfaction with a positive ratio of only 34 per cent. Even so the overall figure was more positive than for the similar period a year earlier.

ReviewCentre.com is the UK’s leading consumer review website with over 150,000 current user reviews and comments on a variety of products and services. It has an average of 3.5 million visitors each month, totalling over 17 million page views. The latest findings came after September’s review rate topped an all time high with an increase of more than 700 reviews over the previous month.

The annual ReviewCentre.com survey discovered that consumers purchasing golfing equipment during September submitted reviews with a 92 per cent ratio of positive comments. Other positive comments include holiday reviews where 74 per cent rated their holiday purchase as positive. Personal finance companies did not rate as highly with Internet consumers, with only 34 per cent of reviewers recommending the company that they visited.

“A 70 per cent satisfaction rate still leaves one in three consumers unhappy with aspects of their service or product performance,” comments Gaynor Holt, Chief Operations Officer at Resource Team. “And because of this, consumer reviews have become a key resource for shoppers to research products and services before make a purchase.
