Consumer Review Website lists AA as Top Car Insurer of 2006

Manchester, UK - 5 December, 2006 -, the UK's leading consumer review website, has listed the AA as the top car insurer of 2006 based on customer reviews and feedback received on the site. The AA scored an average rating of 7.7 out of ten for the quality of its car insurance services, and was praised by online shoppers for excellent customer service and consistently low prices. Elephant, Swiftcover and Zurich also scored highly on the website with average ratings of over 6 out of ten, whilst More Than and Norwich Union Direct were at the bottom of the rankings, both scoring below 3. is the UK's leading consumer review website with over 150,000 current user reviews and comments on a variety of products and services. It has an average of 3.5 million visitors each month, totalling over 17 million page views. The latest findings came after the review rate on car insurance reached an all time high in October this year. The website, which was created by Resource Team, currently allows users to comment on and rate over 100 different UK car insurance providers.

In response to the company's low ratings, Norwich Union has sent emails apologising to all of the unsatisfied customers who posted negative reviews, offering them a chance to discuss their problems with the company. Darren Cornish, Head of Customer Experience at Norwich Union commented: "Whilst it is quite rare, things do go wrong and, thanks to websites such as, we can hopefully resolve issues for any customers who haven't used our own complaints procedure. It has been a real help to us."
