Maginus appoints Russell Dorset as Director of Sales and Marketing

Manchester, August 20, 2007 - Maginus, a leading provider of  IT solutions for multi-channel retail and distribution companies, has announced the appointment of Russell Dorset as Director of Sales and Marketing. Russell Dorset has over 20 years' experience in the software industry in a range of senior sales, marketing and operational management roles. As Director of Sales and Marketing, he will drive the sales of Maginus XA, the company's flagship solution for multi-channel retail and distribution, as well as a range of innovative new solutions and services planned for the retail and distribution sector.

Russell Dorset joins Maginus from K3 Business Technology Group plc. As Chief Operating Officer and a Divisional Managing Director at K3, he played a leading role in business development, organic growth and acquisition strategy at the company, helping to create a five-fold increase in revenue since March 2003. Prior to this, he was Divisional Managing Director and Sales Director at K3, where from January 2001 to March 2003 he helped K3 improve sales processes and customer retention, consistently hit or exceed its revenue targets, and played a key role in the company’s strategic alliance with Microsoft.

Before joining K3, Russell Dorset was District Sales Manager at the CRM specialist Clarify. His responsibilities included developing vertical industry strategy with the company's major implementation partners, creating sector-specific value propositions, and winning business from major customers that included Rolls Royce and BMW. Prior to this, Russell Dorset was Sales and Marketing Director at CP Business Solutions Limited, an IT solutions company serving the food, retail and consumer packaged goods sectors. In this role he helped the company develop a pipeline of new business worth some £4.2m, win major deals from customers including Tesco, and increase profitability by 62 per cent. He has also held senior sales, marketing and project management roles at Enterprise Business Systems Limited, a solutions provider to the automotive, electronics and discrete engineering sectors.
