Jobs4Medical's specialist 'Care Home' section posts over 1000 jobs in first two months of launch

  • Highly active category currently advertising around 700 live jobs
  • Enables Care Homes to quickly employ competent carers, registered nurses, support workers and managerial personnel

Hampshire, UK - 29th November, 2007- Jobs4Medical.co.uk, a leading specialist online recruitment service for the medical profession, has announced that its new 'Care Home' section has become one of the most active areas of its specialist jobs website. Over 1000 vacancies have been posted by some 14 different recruiters since it was launched two months ago. The site's newest section is designed to find the right professionals for positions including Home Managers, Care Assistants and Support Workers, Care of the Elderly, Mental Health Nursing and other Nursing positions in the Care Home market.

The care home sector has seen considerable growth in the demand for high calibre medical and caring professionals in a bid to transform underperforming NHS trusts and private care homes. This is reflected in the 700 live jobs currently advertised on Jobs4Medical.co.uk's specialist category and the high levels of activity related to it. The level of care that care home residents receive is now closely scrutinised after findings of poor standards and under qualified staff in a number of care homes. Plans are currently in motion to implement ‘The Care Quality Commission' - which will provide inspectors with the powers to shut down deplorable wards and services and issue fines, as part of the Government's drive on superbugs. The care home industry in the UK is estimated to be worth £12 billion per year and, according to one national newspaper, one in four British people will be living in a care home during the final years of their life.

"It is vital that care homes have quick access to fully qualified and competent medical professionals," commented Vicky Scott, Operations Manager at Jobs4Medical.co.uk. "The success of the 'Care Home' section in such a short amount of time shows that there is a market requirement for a pool of qualified specialist care home professionals. It is good to see care homes making every effort to ensure the highest possible standards, so that residents, and their families, know they are receiving qualified medical attention and care."

Jobs4Medical exhibited at The Care Show, NEC, on October 24th-25th, the UK's largest and most comprehensive exhibition for the care sector with over 6,000 registered nursing and care homes in the Midlands region alone.
