08 January 2008 - Mediasurface (UK, AIM: MSR), Europe's leading content management solution provider, has announced a new extension to its popular Morello web content management solution that maximises the benefits of allowing enterprise users to work together on content creation using MOSS 2007. The new Morello MOSS 2007 Connector makes it easier and quicker to find, organise and publish MOSS generated content through an enterprise web delivery infrastructure on one or more websites, intranets and extranets.
MOSS and Office Live have become popular and effective tools for team collaboration, content generation and knowledge sharing. However, the challenge for CIOs and managers responsible for corporate governance is that their very proliferation across the organisation makes it difficult to manage content as it is published across enterprise-wide websites.
Mediasurface addresses this with the new Morello MOSS Connector which integrates MOSS tools with Mediasurface's Morello enterprise web content management solution. Automated processes keep information synchronized, ensuring that websites always display the very latest, approved version of a document whilst SharePoint users will always have direct access to information captured on the websites.
In addition, the Morello MOSS 2007 Connector plugs into the generally available standard collaboration and communication services of SharePoint (called WSS), so there is no technical setup required. Users can collaborate, create and review documents, images and pages using familiar tools such as MS Word and Outlook. The connection to Morello ensures users know exactly which MOSS generated content is approved for use, avoiding duplication and speeding up the publishing cycle.
The coupling of both Morello and MOSS also reinforces best practices in corporate governance controls, making it easier to apply business efficiency and ensuring information is delivered on internal or external websites to conform to the highest accessibility standards.
Rob Gray, SharePoint Product Marketing Manager said, "Uptake of MOSS continues to reach unprecedented levels both in the UK and worldwide. The Morello MOSS 2007 Connector allows organisations to maximise their SharePoint investments by delivering SharePoint content across a variety of web platforms and infrastructures."
Ian Truscott, CTO for Morello said:
"Organizations are increasingly looking to deliver business agility through office tools like MOSS but they still want to maintain enterprise levels of governance, content sharing and publication of quality information, both inside and outside the enterprise. The Morello MOSS 2007 Connector delivers a solution that lets them achieve this in a cost effective way."
