Localized Web Strategy for Global Manufacturer

7th February 2008, Mediasurface - Europe's leading content management solution provider have today announced a new business contract with global manufacturer Automation, Press and Tooling, AP&T. The deal will deliver Morello, Mediasurface's enterprise web content management solution (WCM) to run and manage AP&T's international websites providing real-time translation for all six company websites. Sold out of the Mediasurface Nordic office, AP&T plan to launch the main website May 2008.

Based in Sweden, AP&T manufactures and markets automation, presses, tools and complete production lines for the global sheet metal and tube forming industry. With a sales presence in twenty countries worldwide, AP&T relies heavily on the web for new business. However the website was suffering as a protracted workflow meant content passed from the Production division to marketing to translation and finally back to marketing for signoff. Using the flexibility of Morello WCM , AP&T will benefit from a single content repository, serving to www.apt.se and five remaining websites where it will automatically translate to the local language at the point of publishing.  In doing so, AP&T expect Morello to help make substantial savings in both cost and time.

Per Josefsson, Marketing Director, Automation, Press and Tooling, AP&T explains:

"Our belief is that all media should be digitalized so we can better service our customers, but inefficiencies in an overly complex and inflexible website meant content and translation workflow had become a barrier to this. We looked for a solution where we could make instant updates that automatically translated and was sufficiently user friendly that our production division and marketing team could both use it. The first time we saw Morello we knew it was the right solution."

Initially attracted to the 'store once, publish anywhere' aspect of Morello, Per realized that his staff would benefit from the easy to use interface that allows direct entry content authoring from other departments within a branded template. Whilst control remains with the Marketing department for final signoff, Per is looking forward to releasing further contribution rights to staff around other areas of the business as more sites go live.

The main website www.apt.se is scheduled to go live in May, and the flexibility of Morello's single store content repository will enable AP&T to launch their remaining localized websites in record time, using shared content and Morello Instant Site to populate and build the websites simultaneously. AP&T will also be able to use these features for their planned intranets and extranets which will follow on as the web project concludes.
