GLOBAL CONNECTION JOINS FORCES WITH PHILIPS INTERNATIONAL

  • Optimising information provision for expat partners

14 October 2008 - Global Connection, the international cross-media and networking organisation for expatriate partners, has today begun a partnership with Philips International.

The agreement offers Global Connection membership to 750 Philips expat partners in 60 different countries. The move follows customer satisfaction research amongst Philips expat partners, in which the company identified the need for its expat partners to be part of a wider network than just their own company community.

Global Connection membership gives access to a worldwide knowledge network, used by more than 7,000 members of 80 nationalities in 120 different countries. Members, who have been posted abroad by more than 50 multinationals and organisations, are kept up to date with expat life through a quarterly magazine and access to a secure interactive website, amongst other things.

Marin Cocu, Vice President, Head of Global Transfer Services at Philips International commented: "By working together with Global Connection, we hope our expat partners will be able to find their feet in their new location much more quickly than before. The concerns of expatriate partners are our concern and we hope to reduce these by giving them direct access - not only through Philips but also outside of the company - to the best possible information source: the local knowledge and experience of other expat partners."
 
The agreement means a 15% increase in membership for Global Connection, with strong growth in the US and China.
