Hemel Hempstead, UK, 20 January, 2009 - Symon, a global provider of digital signage solutions announced the general availability of its newest line of digital signage media players, the Symon Digital Appliance (SDA) 700 Series. The SDA 700 Series embodies a wide array of Symon's next generation media technologies that leverages Symon's 29 years of expertise in real-time data collection and visual display capabilities. The SDA-700 Series media players are designed for centralised and remote site control, delivering pre-scheduled multimedia content to flat panel displays on a digital signage network. The Symon media players catalog makes it easier than ever to implement a digital signage system with the quality, performance, reliability and functionality that fits most digital signage needs.
"We now have an even bigger selection of powerful media player options. One of the benefits Symon offers is our industry specific network devices, as well as operating system choices, and all-in-one devices that include a line of LCDs with a removable SDA-710 media player," said Charles Ansley, Symon's president and CEO. "Our new models support kiosk and interactivity and there is a new small footprint model, the SDA-705, 6.5 inches square, and less than 2 inches tall, that packs a big punch for displaying digital signage content, while making it easier than ever to install practically anywhere. The first year warranty and annual maintenance is also now included in all SDA-700 Series models offering a lower total cost of ownership."
The SDA-700 Series is intended to fulfill high end requirements and usage. Specific SDA models are equipped with one (SDA-710), two (SDA-720), four (SDA-740), and up to twelve independent video outputs (SMA-3000). Symon now offers a media player (SDA-705) with the Microsoft® Vista for Embedded operating system. Many models support LiveTV, 2D, 3D and cinematic transitions, unlimited screen layouts, optional wireless connectivity, tickers, real-time data and exceptional High Definition at a 16:10 aspect ratio (1920 x 1200, 1080p resolution).
There are several models of an all-in-one unit, the SDA-LCD710 Series, delivered with a removable SDA-710 chassis in a 42-inch or 47-inch LCD screen. Touch screen models are also available with a built in infrared touch screen panel. Both units have a thin ergonomic design and a narrow front bezel.
