DPR and Paric Corporation Win 2009 CMiC Innovation Awards

TORONTO – December 1st, 2009CMiC, the leader in providing software solutions for the construction industry, announced that DPR and Paric won 2009 CMiC Innovation Awards. The awards, presented at CMiC Connect 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona and judged by representatives from McGraw-Hill, recognize excellence and innovation within the user community. CMiC donates the Innovation Award prize money to the charities of the winning companies’ choice.

"The Innovation Awards allows CMiC clients, the best and the brightest in the industry, to receive recognition for their continuous efforts to innovate and improve processes," said Bassem Hamdy, vice president, solutions, CMiC. "As the construction industry continues to recover in this economy, innovation is necessary for survival and the 2009 award winners represent how companies can maximize their investment in CMiC software and drive the industry to a new level."

DPR, based in Redwood City, CA, won for an innovation that converts recorded daily reports into text and uses CMiC I/O to push those files into the daily journal. This innovation provides a productivity boost and frees up time for field personnel. DPR donated their award money to the DPR Foundation, an organization that helps disadvantaged children.

Paric Corporation, based in O’Fallon, MO, won for their historical database, which collects past project data. Before the innovation, request for historical project data would be directed to a few long-term employees that would data mine the accounting system and network files. The project information is useful for predicting future performance. Paric donated their award money to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

"All of the applications we received this year demonstrate that the CMiC user community is the most innovative and technologically progressive in the industry," said Hamdy. "The winners demonstrated a considerable return on investment, both with quantifiable, hard dollar savings and qualitative improvements with their innovations to CMiC software.  CMiC looks forward to seeing what innovations next year’s submitters will bring."

The 2009 CMiC Innovation Awards Winners are featured in an advertising insert in  the November 30th issue of ENR magazine.
