Nextreaming releases HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) Player SDK for Android

The company just released the latest version of NexPlayer™ SDK for Android application makers, updated with the support of Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) as specified by the iPhone devices

IBC Amsterdam, Seoul (Korea), Sept. 10th 2010 - Nextreaming, leading provider of multimedia SW for handsets, announced the commercial availability of the latest NexPlayer™ SDK for Android, now also supporting HTTP Live Streaming as specified by Apple. The Player SDK includes the latest features such as AES128 and Adaptive Bitrate support. It is fully compliant with the already available HTTP Live services. The player is showing premium quality for video and music streaming services through Mobile Operator Networks and Wireless Internet thanks to the specific optimization of the codecs, protocols and rendering modules for the different Android versions and device chipsets. All Android versions and devices are supported.

The player is now ready for Service Providers, Broadcasters and Mobile Operators, who will distribute it for download via the Android Applications Market. The player functionality and user interface are fully customizable and it can be also combined or integrated into any other existing Android application. Sample UI in source code is provided together with the Player SDK, enabling this way a very fast integration process and time-to-market by application makers.

The excellent video and audio quality provided by NexPlayer™ SDK on Android is based on the large experience of Nextreaming in optimizing its media player for particular handsets and platforms. NexPlayer™ SDK provides in addition excellent robustness and secured interoperability enabling quick time to market. The latest 3GPP and Windows Media Codecs such as H.264 and WMV/WMA are included.
