How Xactware's new iPad and iPhone App, XactScope, provides faster and more accurate claims estimating – on-site – from drawing to PDF’d reports

In a recent webcast presentation, claims and loss estimating software company Xactware showed just how easy it is to use its recently launched XactScope^_® app that is free for iPhone and iPad users with a subscription to its desktop estimating platform, Xactimate^_®.

Designed to improve claim settlement times, it enables property insurance, construction, refurbishment, and restoration professionals to visit remote sites and scope, estimate and even generate on-site reports complete with pictures, voice comments and the final net claim amount. The reports can be printed on-site, or emailed to the client and then uploaded to the company server.

Key to the XactScope solution is its powerful patented Sketch software which allows estimators to create digital diagrams of losses and settle claims on-site.

Using the touch screen and the full iPad and iPhone features such as zoom and pinch, estimators can sketch each room, complete with stairs, roof, and other structural features. They can drag to resize rooms or walls, enter openings, doors, and windows, attach rooms, roofs, and they can even identify specific building items and integrate immediate, up-to-date costs for them into their building estimate.

Estimators can even take and integrate on-site photos in their report as they walk through the property with any verbal notes if required – no need to jot down details on a pad of paper, and then transcribe them back at the office.

Information can be pre-loaded beforehand onto the app from a claims reference number or insurance reference number before entering a property, and the final estimate produced, pdf'd and airprinted on-site or emailed to the client, and then finally uploaded to the company server.
