Rincon del Diablo Municipal Water District expands payment options with BillingTree’s integrated EBPP solution

Californian Municipal Water District sees positive results from new portal adoption and the addition of online/telephone credit card acceptance

Phoenix, Ariz. – December 11, 2012 BillingTree®, one of the nation’s leading on-demand payment processors, announced today that Rincon del Diablo Municipal Water has experienced a significant increase in their customer’s utilization of paperless billing and online/telephone  payments after implementing BillingTree’s  partner driven comprehensive Electronic Bill Presentment and Payments portal. A key consideration in Rincon Water’s decision was BillingTree’s top rated PCI compliance, which addressed their security concerns over handling customer credit card payments.  

The recently introduced system has allowed Rincon, which serves thousands of homes in Southern California, to reduce their Days Sales Outstanding time and ensure payments are consistently and effectively collected. Part of the program’s success is attributed to Rincon’s decision to offer both online and IVR pay by phone service, and to absorb processing fees for card payments. This has significantly increased the number of customers paying remotely with debit and credit cards, resulting in a decrease in their late and NSF (non sufficient fund) payments.
